Syaahi 2023

Enlightened Echelon conducted its annual stationery distribution drive titled Syaahi on 25th and 26th of January 2023. It was conducted in collaboration with All About Happiness, an NGO working for the welfare and development of less privileged students in Jaipur city. The venues for the stationery distribution drive were as follows; Government Upper Primary School, Lalya Ka Bas; St. Xavier's College Jaipur, Nevta; and Rajkiya Balika Uccha Madhyamik Vidhyalaya, Banipark.

The aim and objective of Syaahi is to encourage college students in realising their collective social responsibility and motivating them to become positive agents of change in society. Students collected donations from amongst themselves and distributed them at three venues this year. The drive so extensive participation from the students of the department.

The organizer of the drive was Rev Fr Dr A Rex Angelo SJ, Principal. He commended the department for carrying out such social outreach programs for the students of the college. The teacher coordinator for the drive was Dr Rama Hirawat, Head and Assistant Professor. Student coordinators for the same were Radhika Yadav (B.A. Hons. Part - III), Shreya Garg (B.A. Hons. Part - II), and Ayushi Jain (B.A. Hons. Part - I).

Whisper No More 2023

Enlightened Echelon, the social outreach wing of St. Xavier's English Department conducted its annual sanitary napkin distribution drive titled Whisper No More in Government Upper Primary School, Lalya Ka Bas; St. Xavier's College Jaipur, Nevta; and Rajkiya Balika Uccha Madhyamik Vidhyalaya, Banipark on 25th and 26th of January, 2023. It was conducted in collaboration with Gender Studies and Women Cell. 

The aim of Whisper No More is to desensitize the stigma associated with sanitary napkins and encourage the students in participating in such collective social activities. The first-year students of the English Department conducted the distribution drive on 26 January 2023 at Rajkiya Balika Uccha Madhyamik Vidhyalaya, Banipark. Similarly, the second year and third year students of the department conducted the distribution at Government Upper Primary School, Lalya Ka Bas and St. Xavier's College Jaipur, Nevta respectively on 25 January 2023. All department mentors and co-mentors actively participated in the outreach activity. 

The event was organized under the support and guidance of Rev Fr Dr A. Rex Angelo SJ, principal. The teacher coordinators for the activity were Dr Rama Hirawat, Head and Assistant Professor; and Mr Rohan Thomas Cherian, Assistant Professor. Student coordinators for the same were Ananya Kaushik (B.A. Hons. Part - III), Akanksha Rathore (B.A. Hons. Part - II), and Salome D'Souza (B.A. Hons Part - I).

Enlightened Echelon – the social outreach wing of the Department of English, St. Xavier’s College Jaipur – conducted its annual blanket distribution drive in collaboration with All About Happiness (ABH) on 25th December 2022. The blanket distribution drive witnessed extensive student participation from the college. Around 5000 blankets were distributed in different areas of Jaipur such as Vidhyadhar Nagar, Murlipura, Jhotwara, Sirsi Road, Vaishali Nagar, Raja park, Old Jaipur City, Malviya Nagar, Railway Station, Airport, Bus Station, Gopalpura, and Govind Dev Ji and more.

 The goal and aim of organising such social outreach activities for students are to inculcate in them a sense of social responsibility. The donation drive was led by Tanishka Agarwal from B.A. Hons. English Part II. The drive was executed under the guidance of Rev Fr. Dr A Rex Angelo SJ (Principal), Dr Rama Hirawat (HoD, Department of English), Dr Atiqa Kelsy (Dean and Teacher Coordinator, Literati), and Mr Rohan Thomas Cherian (Asst. Coordination, Literati).
